30x30x30 Challenge | A Treetops Montessori School Initiative.
And so the challenge begins…
“Ten years ago,” the world was then
A pleasant dream;
Life was a river banked by flowers,
With sunshine gleaming o’er the stream.
The path was new, and there was thrown
A sweet veil over Pleasure’s ray;
But ignorence is happiness
When young Hope is to show the way;
And fair the scenes that Hope would show
When youth was bright, “ten years ago”.

Faces At The Crossroads 2011
Finding my art is a personal crossroads and I wanted to paint a collection of personalities who have influenced me in some way and represent the true eclectic mix of our community.
Faces at the Crossroads, was held in October 2011, and featured 15 portraits of Western Australian faces that have come from as far afield as Broome and Chile, Midland and Malta, Sabah and Sardinia.
Verse by Kevin Price.
- The peaceful find harmony At the crossroads She’s oil on troubled waters Takes the rough out of the road
- The scholar seeks his mentor At the crossroads Knowledge chasing wisdom And what the world don’t yet know
- The mischief maker’s prompted At the crossroads Ain’t trouble that he seeks But it shapes the way he grows
- The jester shares the laughter At the crossroads He can take you to a party Or take you down the road
- The songsmith finds his muse At the crossroads He’s a suitcase full of talent With a lid that’ll never close
- The siren leaves the ’farers At the crossroads Catch me if you can, she says Y’got a long, long way to go
- The soulman finds the faithful At the crossroads His calling bears the weight Of another man’s load
- The conflicted seeks perfection At the crossroads Her song’s in the key of life It’s her art, don’t you know?
- The hearty finds the joyful At the crossroads Got the world in her hands She’s the centre of the show
- The nurturer leaves goodness At the crossroads No charge for her love No prize for letting go
- The strongman meets the winsome At the crossroads Holds you when you’re falling An anchor and a rope
- The trustful finds the carer At the crossroads He’s a treasure from the north His grin’s the mother lode
- The rebound meets the runner At the crossroads An eagle eye and a volley shot The arc of a perfect throw
- The giver meets the needy At the crossroads He don’t care what it takes Knows he reaps what he sows
- The enigma’s a myst’ry At the crossroads Ephemeral as the spirit Lights the way he goes

Out and about
Every once in a while I move away from the landscape of faces, and try my hand at the landscape of otherthings.
Children, couples and families
Being asked to paint someone’s portrait is always a privilage and a challenge. The process inevitably reveals something special.
